WooCommerce Payment Gateways: Which One Should You Use?
Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay or something else? Compare the most popular WooCommerce payment gateways and choose the right fit for your store.

Your payment gateway is the final step of every sale. The right choice makes checkout smooth and trusted; the wrong one adds friction and fees.
Stripe
Accepts cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and many local methods. It offers an on-site checkout experience and is a strong default for most stores.
PayPal
Widely trusted by shoppers worldwide. Offering PayPal alongside card payments often improves conversion, especially for international customers.
Razorpay
A popular choice for Indian businesses. It supports UPI, cards, net banking and wallets, which Indian customers expect.
Authorize.net
A long-standing gateway common with US merchants and established businesses that already have a merchant account.
Things to compare
- Fees: per-transaction and monthly costs.
- Supported countries and currencies.
- Payment methods: cards, wallets, UPI, buy-now-pay-later.
- Checkout experience: on-site or redirect to another page.
- Subscriptions: support for recurring payments if you need them.
- Payout speed: how quickly money reaches your bank.
Our recommendation
Most stores do well with Stripe for cards and wallets plus PayPal as a second option. Indian stores should add Razorpay for UPI. Fewer, well-known options build more trust than a long list.
